WOMB Roanoke is a mission-driven 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to providing evidence-based, inclusive childbirth education in the Roanoke Valley.
Bright Holler worked with WOMB to take their in-person childbirth curriculum and translate it to an effective online experience, expanding accessibility and reach.
Because online presence requires consistent, high-quality branding and visuals, we also provided them with logos, hand-drawn illustrations, digital art, and a variety of professional photography assets.
Logo Design
Because birth can be stressful and scary at times, WOMB felt it was important to make the logo fun and playful. Inspired by mid-century schoolbook graphics, the logo design is a subtle nod to school, yet with a childish feel. Perfect for learning how to be a parent!
The Video Shoot
The WOMB Online video course was shot over a period of three days during which two educators went through the entire curriculum.
The set design was styled to be homey and inviting and featured a range of personal items from one of the WOMB Online founders - significant items from her own matrescence.
Digital Illustration
Digital illustration was used to create not only graphics for social media, but also a variety of print products, including vinyl signage, educational handouts, business cards, and stickers.
Hand-Drawn Elements
When creating the curriculum workbook, each illustration was hand-drawn and then scanned into Adobe Illustrator to create sharp, vector images that retained a hand-drawn look. Each illustration can be scaled to preference, and the colors can be changed to match the project.
WOMB used these illustrations in black with no fill to create a coloring book element to their curriculum.
